We are an International sleepover English camp for children 8-17. There are up to 180 children every week and we offer them English lessons, but some other programs in English, too – Sports, Spy, Glamour, photo&video and junior counsellor, Leadership… The camp is pretty easy going – you may only need some nice clothing for ‘Academy award’ evening, or something that can be used as costume when impersonating your favourite famous person. Apart from that – normal everyday summer clothing, swimsuit, towels and something against mosquitoes J.
We have 3 blocks of lessons per day 9-10:30, 12:15-13:30 and 15:-15:45. In the meantime, campers are free to choose activities of their liking. Meals and lessons are obligatory.
Euroclub is taking place in Brodarica near Solaris, 6 kilometres from Šibenik. The closest airports are Split and Zadar. This season, the camp will be working from June 26 to August 28th.
We will provide food (3 meals per day) and accommodation in rooms of 2 with your fellow staff members. The camp consists of several pavilions with rooms – one room in each pavilion belongs to staff members.
EUROCLUB Obligations:
- We provide teachers with ideas and materials for work, but they are free to pick the activities and/or use their own (as every group is different so it needs adjustment). The main aim of the camp is to put students’ knowledge at use – so conversation and use of English. They love movement activities and everything involving mobile phone. However, to please the parents, too – we need to combine at least a bit of writing and grammar they will take home and show to their parents. We have a photocopier in the camp, as well as course books and bunch of photocopiable materials.
- Providing full board and accommodation for counsellors in rooms of 2 persons
- Providing the day program and organizing the camp
- Providing the counsellor weekly payment of 350 € (given all the obligations are fulfilled). The amount is to be paid on the last day of week program (Saturday).
- If you wish you can also come few days earlier if there is a cheaper flight or so– you can stay with us for free.
Counsellor obligations:
- Overall care of the group in charge (about 15 students), free time is organized by free time staff
- Using English in communication with children and fellow counsellors
- Participating in teachers’ meeting/coffee break (8:00-8:15AM)
- Following the daily routine, especially the lesson and meal time table http://www.euroclub.hr/en/daily-routine
- Checking up on children in the cabin - in the evening (23:15) and waking them up in the morning (7:55)
- Teaching 9-10:30, 12:15-13:30 and 15:-15:45 Mon-Sat, introductory lesson Sunday 18:00.
- Taking part in some free time activities and evening program
- Taking part and sitting at the same table with the group at meals, checking that everyone gets and eats the meal
- Contacting the doctor or person in charge in case of need
- Staying within camp premises or on the main beach. In case you are going to leave the premises, please notify the director or person in charge.
- Apart from these obligations teachers are basically free to sunbathe, swim, rest or whatever. We don’t have lessons on Sunday until 18:00 – just introductory lesson with the new group.
